What drew you to the Okanagan?
Initially it was UBC, but the valley caught my heart.
How did you first hear about Phantom Creek?
I had been following the sale of the property from Harry McWatters and was interested when I learned that this new winery was hiring.
What is your position at Phantom Creek?
The hardest one to say: oenologist
What have you learned about yourself since being promoted to oenologist?
That I want to be in the cellar more than I am.
I hear you’re very loyal to John Deere, why is that?
My dad indoctrinated me at a young age.
Are the rumors about Saskatchewan true? Can you really watch your dog run away for a week?
Its about 3 days actually.
Which are your other favorite wines or wineries locally or around the world?
Favourite local wine: Blue Mountain’s Sparkling Rose Favourite international wine (currently): Tyrrell’s 2010 Semillon from the Hunter Valley
What would people surprised to know about you?
Even though I was raised in the Prairies, I have been skiing in the mountains since I was 3 and I have been rock climbing for the last couple years.
