DESCRIPTION:We play a wide-ranging mix of jazzed-up blues with an earthy brand of powerhouse vocals.\nWith influences like Koko Taylor\, Ruthie Foster and Big Mama Thornton\, it’s a southern soulsinger’s intimacy wrapped in a dose of northern attitude.\nYanti has a lengthy resume of singing with high profile local groups\, like the Justin Glibbery Quintet (JGQ) and the Crawford Crossley group\, as well as leading her own “Song Catching” sessions with the public. \n\nThe Blues Crew consists of guitarist Paul Henbury with his stylish southern blues guitar work\, the jazz-rock fusion playing of bassist Frank Artés\, drummer Rod Rose’s percussive agility\, and the finesse of keys player Mel Zachary\, “Mr. Eleven Fingers”.\nOver the years we have individually been part of numerous music projects\, both large and small\, covering a variety of genres from blues to funk\, jazz to big band\, and beyond but ultimately\, it’s about emotion\, improvisation and the soul of the performance.

DESCRIPTION:Dave Barber is a Canadian musician\, recording artist (Molly’s Eyes\, 2023)\, songwriter\, singer\, and live performer. He creates beautiful unhurried melodies and songs rich in tone and playfulness\, pulling from classic country\, roots\, folk\, and jazz. Dave met his wife Kirby in Edmonton where they started gigging. It was great training for what came next. \nKirby and I moved to Vancouver in 2011\, in search of new opportunities to play with different artists and push ourselves. This is where I met and played with people like Chad Brownlee\, Dallas Smith\, and had a banjo part on a four-times platinum single by Coleman Hell\, 2 Heads. \nA big part of our growth as musicians has been to leave one scene and move to another. We did that again\, in 2017\, when we moved to Nashville. \nNashville is where the big names play and record\, so you have all sorts of opportunities to learn and grow at even a higher level of talent and professionalism. \nI’m excited to finally be putting together my own work\, expressing who I am. At this point\, I’m most excited about trying to create my own sound\, a sound and a style that puts together the many elements of music that I love. \nMe being me is all that I can bring to the musical table. And it’s the most interesting challenge I’ve set myself to date.
