2022 Estate Grande Cuvee

TASTING NOTES

Richly layered and expressive, the 2022 Grande Cuvée unfolds with floral peony, graphite, and leather, intertwined with cassis, cherry, strawberries, and plums. The palate is deep and inviting, offering lush strawberries and plums, hints of leather and sweet grass, and a touch of red licorice nibs. A subtle flintiness, warm anise, and a whisper of charcuterie add intrigue, while velvety tannins lend structure and depth.

A wine of elegance and character, it pairs beautifully with grilled lamb, artisanal charcuterie, and foie gras, enhancing every bite with its bold yet refined complexity.

WINEMAKER NOTES

The 2022 growing season featured a cold, wet spring and a late budburst. These conditions, combined with hot days and cooler nights, were optimal for achieving an ideal acidity balance in the grapes. Warm and dry weather prevailed through the summer and early fall, which was perfect for the development of berry color, flavor, and tannin levels. These favourable conditions also led to a higher-than-average number of berries and increased berry weight.
