TASTING NOTES
The 2022 Small Lot Pinot Gris opens with an aromatic bouquet of honey, orange blossom, honeysuckle, and white rose, complemented by the lush scents of Okanagan nectarine, apricot, white sesame, toasty oak, and candied citrus peel. On the palate, ripe yellow and stone fruits are perfectly balanced by warm alcohol, creating a textural roundness with subtle secondary oak character. This wine boasts impressive concentration and depth, revealing layers of complexity. With ample structural components, it has the potential to age beautifully, adding further nuance over time.
WINEMAKER NOTES
The 2022 growing season was characterized by a cold, wet spring and latebudburst. These conditions coupled with hot days and cooler nights wereoptimal in creation of acidity balance for this vintage. Warm and dryconditions prevailed through summer and early fall and were ideal for thedevelopment of berry colour, flavour, and tannin level and resulted in higherthan average berry number and weight.
VINEYARD NOTES
Our vineyard in the Similkameen Valley has extremely rocky soils and long, hot days. This vineyard has the potential to be one of the greatest sites for white wines in the Okanagan.
